As part of the Corbett Library’s 10th anniversary celebrations as a community-run asset, ACS Chair Jon Wright gave a fascinating talk about how it came into existence in 1907.
The land for the Library was donated by Archibald Corbett, but the funds for its construction were given by fellow Scot Andrew Carnegie, who also endowed well over 2,000 others across the world. We’re really lucky to have such a fine building, with such an interesting history, at the heart of the Corbett Estate.
